6.   Reports/ Old Business

     A. Principal Report given by Kathy Arola.

Library:

Library tech position is eliminated at this time, but there is a rumor that it may be reinstated at 3.5 hours per day, but no confirmation on this has been heard.

Library Fund requests have gone well and the letter raised almost $4000.00. Salesian Sisters gave $100 to the library fund.  Ed Kelly Foundation gave $500.  There will be a thank you in the Pajaronian.  Because of all the fundraising efforts for the library (Escript, direct donation letter, book fair) Bradley will have the library open at least 2 hours per day!!! Unfortunately, the library tech position may not be Ms. Terre, as it is based on seniority.  But she will take the position at 2 hours per day if no one else does.

Reading Intervention:

Driscoll’s donated $7500.00 to the reading Intervention position.  A thank you will be in the Pajaronian.  The Read a Thon raised $1596 and there is a $500 commitment from the HSC.  A 10% position is $9200 per year.  So it is close to being funded for 10%. Jen Yatson will do this again, along with 50% third grade teaching position.  Discussion was held about a volunteer position to support the Reading Intervention position.

Superintendent Newsletter:

Hand out given.  Bradley was the top school in the science fair with three 6th graders scheduled to attend the State Science Fair at UCLA!

    B.  Fundraising Committee Report

       A.  2009- 2010 HSC Board Elections:

The following people were elected by a majority vote:

President: Bob Williams

Vice President: Melissa Scott

Parent Volunteer Coordinator: Veronica Parra

The HSC Board will appoint the Treasurer Position.

       B.  May 19th Special Election discussion

Discussion was held about HSC taking a stance on the upcoming election.

      C.  HSC proposed By Law Amendments

Eleven proposed By Law amendments were reviewed and submitted for review.  The proposals were submitted in writing and will be voted on at the next HSC membership meeting.  Discussion was held about each proposed amendment.

      D.  Ice Cream Social
