School Site Council Minutes

 

Members Present:  Kathy Arola, Barry Wallace, Kathleen Blair, Andrea Carlos Willy, Steve Harrington, Marci Ernst, and Debbie Puente.

 

Call to Order:  Andrea called the meeting to order at 5:07 p.m.

 

Approval of Minutes:                Barry Wallace              moved

                                                Marci Ernst                  seconded

 

School Plan:  Kathy presented the Plan to the District.  Had to change some “unrealistic” time lines in the plan, add a bit under special education and update the percentages on the AYP goals for Language Arts and Math.  Revised plan was reviewed and motion made by Andrea Carlos Willy and seconded by Steve Harrington, and all voted to approve the revised plan.

 

Election Update:  Doug Evers is the new site council member for next year.

 

Traffic:  Andrea prepared letter to Dr. Mays regarding the traffic/safety issues at Bradley School.  Site council approved letter for sending.

 

Celebration of Parents:  Certificates and pins were handed out to parents to thank them for serving on the site council.

 

Principal’s Report:  Honor Roll/Awards Assembly today.  Million Word Challenge awards were handed out.  Look for your student’s name in the Register Pajaronian if they met the Million Word Challenge.  Two teachers hired – one for 4th grade and one for a 4/5 combo.  Dr. Woods, N. Zone Assistant Superintendent is leaving and they are interviewing 8 candidates for his replacement.  School is looking at some type of collaboration with Driscoll’s (life lab, science fair, sports fields/parking) when they move in across the road.

 

Adjournment:  Meeting was adjourned at 6:35 p.m. with the Principal’s Report at the Home and School Club meeting.
