The Bradley Enrichment Council is a working group of volunteer parents and staff dedicated to bringing a broad range of extra-curricular tuition-based opportunities to Bradley students. Any member of the Bradley community is welcome to actively participate. We are motivated by a belief that through exposure to diverse and enriching learning experiences all children can be inspired to achieve a love of learning. We seek courses that supplement and extend the curricular opportunities already available in class to Bradley students. In past years, courses have included: theatre/performing arts, visual arts, science, robotics/computer technology, and physical education.
An attempt is made to find interesting and affordable courses with enthusiastic instructors who share Bradley core values, most especially, a passion for working with children. Class size and tuition rates are strictly up to individual instructors/organizations and often reflect length of course, materials, and instructor expertise. Scholarships are available through the Principal’s office for those in need. In addition, any instructor offering an after school enrichment opportunity will be asked to consider providing a sibling discount for families. The Council also seeks to find external sources of funding with the hopes of reducing tuition for all students.
The Bradley Enrichment Council and Home and School Club have both recently discussed the issue of affordability with respect to after-school enrichment opportunities. Over the past several years, the scope and tuition rates of after-school enrichment opportunities have varied greatly. Tuition rates for courses are strictly up to individual instructors/organizations and often reflect length of course, materials, and instructor expertise. The Enrichment Council and Home & School Club came up with the following working guideline:
Any child who desires to participate in an after-school enrichment opportunity, but cannot do so because of financial need, can seek a 50% tuition scholarship through the Principal. An application form is available in the Office. Her criteria for decision making will be based upon the Free and Reduced Lunch Program as an indication of financial need. The Principal on a case-by-case basis will assess other financial situations. The funding for these scholarships comes directly from the Scholarship Fund of the Bradley Home & School Club.
